Day 7: モールオブアメリカ The Mall of America

Hello! 今日はモールオブアメリカというアメリカ最大モール（店舗の数がアメリカ最多）で買い物をしたり、テーマパークで遊んだした日でした。伊方派遣生も引率者もホストファミリーも行って、楽しくて充実した一日になりました。今日の写真は下の通りです。ぜひ、見て、コメントや伊方派遣生への励ましの事をたくさん残してください。

まず、ホノカさんとスズカさんのホストファミリーの家に行きました。
最初に迎えに来てくれたのはジョンソンさんの犬でした。
First, we stopped by the home of Honoka and Suzuka's host family.
The first one to come greet us was the Johnson family dog.

ジョンソンファミリーの家です。
とても庭の広くて、大自然に囲まれている素敵な家です。
This is the Johnson family home.
It's a lovely home surrounded by nature and a beautiful wide lawn.

出発する前に犬にグッドバイを言いました。
We said goodbye to the dog before taking off.

モールオブアメリカへの道。
The road to the Mall of America.

モールオブアメリカに着いて最初に思った事は
とてつもないひろいです！
お揃いの伊方シャツを着てよかった！
The first thing we noticed when we arrived at the Mall of America
was how incredibly huge it was!
Good thing we all wore our blue Ikata t-shirts.

レゴランドに寄ったらこの像（というか？）を目撃しました。
写真で実際の規模がわかりにくいですが、５メートルぐらいの高さでした。
We happened upon this statue when we swung by Legoland.
You can't really get an idea of scale from the picture, but it was about 15 feet tall.

お昼は麺類でした。英語で注文する事にだいぶ慣れてきているようです。
We had noodles for lunch. It sounded like they were getting pretty used to
ordering food in English.

その後、買い物が始まりました。
面白い帽子に気が散られました。
After that, we started shopping.
They kind of got distracted by some interesting hats.

ミネソタ州の隣のウィスコンシン州はチーズが有名だと言われますので、
チーズの形にした帽子が大人気です。似合いますよ。
Minnesota's next-door neighbor, Wisconsin, is very famous for Cheese so their
cheese-shaped hats are very popular. They look great on you!

「友達にお土産をかわないと」と言っていました。
遊園地の乗り物に乗る前に３時間ぐらい一生懸命探しました。
"We gotta buy souvenirs for our friends" they said.
They searched high and low for the perfect gifts for about three hours
before hitting the rides.

なにかを見つけましたらしいです。
It looks like they found something.

ミネソタのお菓子をかいますか。
Are you going to buy some Minnesota candies?

運転して、モールアブアメリカを案内してくれた
伊方派遣生のホストマザーのふたりです。
今日も大変お世話になりました。
The two host mothers who drove to and showed the Ikata
exchange students all around the Mall of America.
Thank you so much for everything!

途中からエネルギーがちょっと減ったようです。
「ほんとにひろいね、このモール」と言っていました。
At at certain point they got kinda tuckered out.
"This place really is big, isn't it" they said.

次いでに、アメリカンガールという超有名な人形ブランドのお店を訪れました。
Next we headed to the extremely well-known American Girl brand store.

とても楽しかったです。
It was a lot of fun.

ディズニーショップもありました。
There was even a Disney store.

中に日本で大人気「ディズニー ツムツム」のキャラクターもありました。
「買いたいけど、どうやって持って帰るからわからない」と言っていました。
Inside the shop were Disney Tsum Tsum characters, very popular in Japan.
"I want to buy one but how would I be able to bring it home?" one said.

その後、おしゃれなヘアピンを販売してる小さなお店がありました。
店員がヘアピンでとても奇麗な髪型にしてくれて、楽しかったです。
モモカさんはいいなと思って買いました。
After that, we swung by a little shop selling some cute hairpins.
The shop owner put the girls' hair up very pretty, and it was a lot of fun.
Momoka liked them and bought a few.

伊方派遣生は遊園地で遊んでいる間、大人はレストランに行って
お寿司を食べました。日本では珍しいスタイルのお寿司でしたが、
「とても美味しい」と引率者は言いました。
While the kids were playing around in the theme park, the adults headed to a nearby
restaurant for a bite to eat. There were several sushi there that are not easily
found in Japan but the chaperone said they were very delicious.

伊方派遣生に遊園地で自由に時間を過ごしてもらいましたが、
一時間に１回必ず集まって安否を確認しました。
私は集合場所に行くと、なんと集合場所に近いメリーゴーランドに乗っていました。
We let the Ikata exchange students have a little free time in the theme park
but were sure to check up on them once an hour.
When I went to the gathering spot,
 to my surprise their were all riding the merry go round, nearby.

とても楽しそうに乗っていましたよ。
It looked like they were really having a good time.

「ジェットコースターに乗りたかった」と言いました。「けど、集合時刻まで時間が
なかったので、まず集合場所に来た。集合場所に近くて
メリーゴーランドがあってとりあえずの乗ろうと思っただけ」^^
"We wanted to ride another roller coaster" they said, "but there wasn't enough
time before we had to meet, so we headed back. This ride was close,
so we decided to ride it while we waited for you." 

ラルフさんは仕事が終わってから来て一緒に食事をしました。
Ralph came over and joined us for dinner as soon as work was out.

夕飯は中華
Dinner was Chinese.

モールの中央に全米最大屋内テーマパークがあります。
「普通の遊園地より広い」とタクミさんは言いました。
In the center of the Mall of America is the largest indoor theme park in
all of the United States. "It's even bigger than most normal-sized theme parks"
said Takumi.

そして最後に記念で皆で写真を撮ってもらいました。
買い物する事、たくさん遊ぶ事もできてとても充実した一日でした。
疲れているので、帰りは車の中で寝るから静かだろうと私は思いましたが、
アドレナリンがなんとまだたくさん残っている派遣生は
ずっと話していました。
Last but not least, we got a picture of everyone all together before we headed home.
We had a full day shopping and playing....so I thought they would be quiet on the ride home.
Not so! It seems that the adrenaline was still going strong and the girls talked the whole way home.

今日も最後まだ読んでくれてありがとうございました。派遣団全員でレッドウィング市、ミネソタ州で過ごす事がとても楽しいようですが、今日は特に楽しかったと言っていました。明日はふたつのグループに別れ行動します。ひとつのグループはペピン湖沿いの町をexploreします。もうひとるのグループはミネソタ州の州都のセイントポール市やミネソタ州の州庁をexploreしますので、たくさん寝て、エネルギーを充電してほしいものです。
